The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and promote peace and prosperity by 2030. Achieving these goals requires strong collaboration across sectors, including the private sector.
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, supporting companies to align their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, while advancing the SDGs.
UN Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) plays a key role in this effort by bringing together businesses, government, and civil society to drive sustainable business practices in Thailand. Through our programmes and partnerships, we support companies in embedding sustainability into their strategies and contributing to national and global impact.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a detail-oriented Communications Intern to support the execution of GCNT’s mission to drive sustainability for our participants. The intern will assist in research, drafting high-level internal and external communications, and managing GCNT’s professional social media presence to ensure consistent audience engagement. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic communication projects and refine professional standards within a corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Development:
- Draft, edit, and proofread high-quality written materials, including event summaries, newsletters, and announcements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with United Nations Global Compact’s style and brand guidelines. Assist in shooting and editing short videos for social media channels.
- Social Media Management:
- Assist in the curation and scheduling of content across professional social media platforms, monitoring engagement metrics to optimize audience reach.
- Strategic Support:
- Provide administrative and creative support for the execution of integrated communication campaigns and organizational events.
- Digital Asset Coordination:
- Help manage and organize digital media libraries, including photography and graphic assets, to ensure consistent visual storytelling across all channels.
COMPETENCIES
- Educational and Experience Requirement
- Education: A senior or newly graduated student from the first-level university degree, preferably communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related fields.
- Experience:
- Written & Verbal Excellence: Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Thai and English, with the ability to distill complex global issues into clear, professional content.
- Social Media & Multimedia Proficiency: Hands-on experience managing professional social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram) and basic proficiency in video editing tools or mobile content creation for short-form video.
- Organizational & Research Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage digital assets and provide administrative support for high-level events or integrated campaigns.
- Global Perspective: A demonstrated interest in corporate sustainability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and working within a diverse, multicultural environment.
- Language skills:
- Proficiency in Thai and English is required.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Computer/ Technical skills:
- Essential communications and analytics tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
- Image and video editing programs such as Photoshop, Canva, and Capcut.
