CONTRACT DURATION: 3-6 months contract 

WORKING ARRANGEMENT: Hybrid (5 days/week, on-site + remote) 

LOCATION: UN Global Compact Network Thailand, True Digital Park, Sukhumvit 101, Bangkok 

START DATE: Flexible (from May 2026 onward)

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, supporting companies to align their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, while advancing the SDGs. 

UN Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) plays a key role in this effort by bringing together businesses, government, and civil society to drive sustainable business practices in Thailand. Through our programmes and partnerships, we support companies in embedding sustainability into their strategies and contributing to national and global impact. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Role Summary 

 
The Programme Intern (Environment) will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of GCNT’s environment-related programmes and partnerships, including climate, circularity, nature, sustainable tourism, and related member engagement activities. 

The intern will gain practical exposure to corporate sustainability work, multi-stakeholder coordination, research and content development, and programme operations in a dynamic professional environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the operational coordination and implementation of environment-related trainings, webinars, workshops, events, and projects under GCNT’s Environment portfolio, including activities related to climate action, circular economy, climate finance, biodiversity, and business sustainability. 
  • Assist in conducting background research and data gathering, and support the preparation of policy-related materials, briefing notes, concept notes, proposal drafts, presentations, and other programme documents in Thai and English to inform programme development and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Support communication and day-to-day coordination with members, partners, speakers, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders to facilitate programme implementation, event preparation, and follow-up. 
  • Assist in preparing meeting minutes, follow-up summaries, contact lists, internal trackers, and organized files and documentation to support smooth project management and internal coordination. 
  • Help monitor workplans and activity timelines, track registrations and participant lists, compile feedback and post-activity information, and support the preparation of activity summaries and simple reports. 
  • Support flagship sustainability events and programme-related outreach by assisting with event materials, presentation decks, visibility materials, and other communications content, where relevant. 
  • Assist with administrative and operational tasks related to programme and policy support, including logistics coordination, document consolidation, desk research, and other assignments that contribute to the development and implementation of GCNT’s environment-related initiatives. 

COMPETENCIES  

  • Educational and Experience Requirement 
  • Education: A senior or newly graduated student from the first-level university degree, preferably environmental studies, sustainability management or related fields 

    Experience:  
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability, climate action, circular economy, biodiversity, sustainable tourism, or related topics through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, or project work. 
  • Experience in research, report writing, presentation preparation, or event/project coordination is an advantage. 
  • Ability to work with information in a structured manner, with strong attention to detail and willingness to support both content and operational tasks. 

    Language skills:  
  • Proficiency in Thai and English is required.  
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing 

    Computer/ Technical skills:  
  • Essential communications and analytics tools:  Excel, PowerPoint, Word 
  • Proficiency in Canva and AI Tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Notebook LLM) is an advantage.
