GCNT ร่วมกับ UN Women และภาคีร่วมพิธีลั่นระฆังเปิดตลาด เพื่อส่งสัญญาณดังฟังชัด ว่าตลาดทุนไทยพร้อมเดินหน้าสนับสนุนการเป็นผู้นำของสตรีเพื่อความเท่าเทียม (Ring the Bell for Women’s Leadership for Just and Prosperous Economies) โดยมีตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงานคณะกรรมการกำกับหลักทรัพย์และตลาดหลักทรัพย์ รัฐบาลออสเตรเลีย และตัวแทนจากผู้นำภาคเอกชน นักลงทุน และหน่วยงานกำกับดูแลตลาดทุน ร่วมกันแสดงความมุ่งมั่นในการผลักดันความเท่าเทียมทางเพศในโลกธุรกิจ
โดยงานนี้จัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมบทบาทสตรีในตลาดทุน พร้อมเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของการเปิดโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจให้ทั้งธุรกิจที่มีผู้หญิงเป็นเจ้าของ รวมถึงองค์กรที่ให้ความสำคัญกับความเท่าเทียมทางเพศสามารถเข้าสู่ห่วงโซ่อุปทานได้อย่างเท่าเทียม ทั้งในไทย ลุ่มน้ำโขง และทั่วภูมิภาค
ดร. ขวัญฤทัย ศิริพัฒนโกศล รองเลขาธิการสมาคมฯ ได้กล่าวเน้นย้ำว่าการที่ผู้หญิงมีส่วนร่วมทางเศรษฐกิจอย่างเต็มที่ จะช่วยส่งเสริมให้นวัตกรรมของธุรกิจเข้มแข็งและห่วงโซ่อุปทานมีความยืดหยุ่นมากขึ้น อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยยังคงมีช่องว่างทางเพศในตลาดแรงงานสูงถึง 29% ซึ่งหากไม่มีการเร่งแก้ไขอาจต้องใช้เวลาถึงหนึ่งศตวรรษกว่าจะบรรลุความเท่าเทียม โดย ดร. ขวัญฤทัย ระบุว่านอกจากการเพิ่มจำนวนผู้นำสตรีในระดับบริหารแล้ว ภาคธุรกิจต้องมองให้ไกลไปถึงกลุ่ม “ผู้ประกอบการหญิง” โดยเฉพาะในกระบวนการจัดซื้อจัดจ้าง เนื่องจากผู้หญิงยังเผชิญอุปสรรคเชิงโครงสร้างในการเข้าถึงแหล่งทุนและข้อมูล
ตัวอย่างความสำเร็จที่เห็นได้ชัดคือสมาชิกของ GCNT อย่าง L’Oreal ที่มีโครงการจัดซื้อจัดจ้างที่ครอบคลุม สนับสนุนทั้งสตรี ผู้สูงอายุ และผู้พิการ หรือ Sappe และ Hillkoff ที่ทำงานร่วมกับเกษตรกรท้องถิ่นและผู้ผลิตรายย่อยที่เป็นสตรี เพื่อสร้างผลิตภัณฑ์ที่รับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม ทั้งนี้ การผลักดันความเท่าเทียมทางเพศต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือจากทุกฝ่ายและต้องนำไปสู่ผลลัพธ์ที่วัดผลได้จริง เพราะเมื่อผู้หญิงประสบความสำเร็จ ภาคธุรกิจและสังคมโดยรวมก็จะเติบโตอย่างมั่งคั่งและยั่งยืนไปพร้อมกัน

GCNT joined the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the Securities and Exchange Commission Thailand (SEC), the Australian Government, UN Women, and representatives from the private sector, investors, and capital market regulators to ring the bell for Women’s Leadership for Just and Prosperous Economies.
The event was organized with the aim of championing women’s leadership in capital markets and expanding economic opportunities for women-owned businesses across supply chains in Thailand, the Mekong and beyond and to announce all organization’s commitment to gender equality in business.
Dr. Kuanruthai Siripatthanakosol, Deputy Secretary-General of GCNT delivered a speech to reinforce the importance of advancing gender equality in supply chains.
“When women participate fully in the economy, businesses become more innovative, supply chains become more resilient, economies grow stronger and more inclusive. Still, progress is uneven and in Thailand there is still a 29% gender gap in the workforce. If we continue at the current pace, it could take a century to achieve gender parity,” said Dr. Kuanruthai.
“While women leadership is important, it is only part of the story. If we want a truly inclusive economy, we must look beyond boardrooms to women entrepreneurs, thus, decisions on procurement practice matters. Because women face significant structural barriers including the lack of opportunities to access finances and capacity building, large corporations should engage supply chains including women. Access to finance, networking, and information is important to women entrepreneurs. For example, GCNT member L’Oreal works with women-owned businesses and suppliers, and their inclusive sourcing programs support suppliers and create employment for seniors and disabled in addition to women. Our member Sappe works closely with local agricultures, and Hillkoff work with local communities including women farmers and small producers to offer socially and environmentally responsible products.”
“Advancing gender equality requires everyone to champion this issue, and actions must translate to measurable outcomes. Because when women succeed, businesses and society also succeed. When businesses open opportunities for women across the value chain, we move to build a more inclusive and prosperous economy for all.”
