Dr. Thanyaporn Krichtitayawuth, Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Thailand, joined the fireside discussion at the UN Global Compact Network Singapore Summit 2025 to speak on the “Leading with Purpose: Seizing Opportunities for Sustainability in a Divided World.”
Dr. Thanyaporn highlighted that maintaining sustainability amid global instability is challenging but essential. Companies that stay committed, even in crises, are better positioned for long-term success. Meanwhile, in Thailand, businesses are integrating sustainability into risk management, innovation, and supply chains, showing leadership through clear purpose and action.
She emphasized that despite short-term economic pressures, many forward-thinking companies are successful in turning challenges into opportunities. Thai businesses, including SMEs, are investing in clean energy, circular models, and green finance — strategies that drive sustainability while unlocking long-term growth through innovation, inclusion, and digital solutions.
Dr. Thanyaporn added that future leaders must embed sustainability into the core of their organizations and must connect their ESG endeavours to enterprise value, balance purpose with performance, and inspire cross-sector collaboration.
Moving beyond commitments, she called for companies to create measurable outcomes through partnerships, data systems, and transparent reporting. Finally, the call to action is clear: lead with purpose, act with urgency, and collaborate with courage to build a sustainable and inclusive future.
